Welcome to Twisted Maple Farm
Purchased in spring of 2016, 20+ acres. The home was built in 1920. Barn built 2022-2023
We are approaching the 1 year date of living at our farm. 8 years of coming up on weekends cleaning, clearing, improving and working to get here.
The farm produces; hay, honey, blackberries, tumeric, and horseradish at this time, in small quanities. Buffalo garlic grows wild everywhere and if treated like a garden item, produces normal garlic cloves that are fantastic. We have Gala, granny smith and honeycrisp apple trees planted, along with a Sarasota plum and cherries trees. New last year was a domestic Elderberry bush.
The wildlife here is just amazing. We have piliated Woodpeckers that visit our park trees all the time. You can hear them up on the hill behind the house screeching and pounding on hollow trees. Deer that walk through our park and are captured on cameras. The turkeys, once their poults are out of nest, will group and parade right past us on back porch.
Quiet living on a loop road is the best. Only your nieghbors pass by. We get more tractor and UTV traffic than autos.
Jeannine grows our veggies in raised beds, and only grows enough for us to eat and can for winter. Her salsa and pasta sauce is the best!
She also has several different kinds of sage that she grows for smudge sticks.
The farm is surrounded by huge game reserves on all sides and our hopes are that we will remain isolated.
We hope it stays this way for a few years.
